Baseball

There are 287 Division I universities and 227 Division II universities, spread over the whole of the USA and they all offer scholarships. In the NCAA alone the number of scholarships is annually 5423! Scholarbook can help you get a scholarship.
The following information will help you to learn more about college baseball.

Timing
The best time to go to the USA on a sports scholarship is straight after you finish school. College coaches prefer to give scholarships to younger students, as it enables them to continually train and improve a player’s performance over a period of four years. It is also possible to go to the US for just one year. Due to the contact we have to a large number of college coaches we have been able to help athletes after they have completed their Bachelor to do their Master in the USA. The best timing is if you contact us about one year before you plan to start studying in the USA.  Baseball players can start studying either at the Spring Semester (January) or the Fall Semester (August).

Requirements
The selection process at the top universities is not easy; a large number of players will be applying for the places available. However the chances of getting a scholarship are good. NCAA awards 5423 every year. The small Division I schools, Division II Universities or NAIA institutes also offer very good baseball programs. To take part in one of these programs compares very favorably with the other scholarships offered. As a general guide, the level of all three leagues (NCAA Division I & II and also NAIA) is comparable to the Junior National Teams in Germany. However you must have played or be playing in the top league in Germany.

Training
The baseball training is very professional and there are usually 5 training units per week plus weight and fitness training. The advantage being the academic program is built around the training program, so it is not a problem to have such intensive training programs. In fact it is just the opposite, it has been found, that scholarship students often have better marks than the normal average US student. As a baseball player you will achieve levels that can only be dreamt about here in Germany. Watch the videos and see for yourself what is possible.

Competing
The baseball season starts in the spring and it is an advantage if you also start at the Spring Semester. However it is also possible to start in the fall. There are always players that drop out and the coaches will be looking to replace them. The National Championships for all 3 series take place in May or June. IN 2010 the All American Championship Division I was won by South Carolina who beat UCLA in the Final. There is also the Men’s World College Series at the end of the season and this year South Carolina also finished at the top!College Baseball is very popular and wouldn’t it be great to belong in there with perhaps a 5 figure scholarship!
